School Safety Drills

Round Lake Area School District abides by the Illinois School Safety Act, which requires staff and students to participate in the following drills:

Fire Drills

Three per year with one requiring the participation of the local fire department.

Bus Evacuation Drills

Staff and students will practice bus evacuation one time a year

Lockdown

Twice a year with the requirement of participation of the local law enforcement.

Shelter

One time a year with the requirement of participation of local law enforcement.

RLAS-116 utilizes Standard Response Protocols, created by the I Love U Guys Foundation. Our Schools practice responses to a variety of safety incidents requiring a potential need to Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, or Shelter.
