To support student health and safety, Round Lake Area Schools CUSD #116 prohibits the distribution of food items for classroom celebrations, including birthdays and holiday parties.  This practice helps minimize the risk of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and classroom disruptions.  Families who wish to recognize a special occasion are encouraged to consider non-food alternatives such as:

  • Small items like pencils, stickers, or mini containers of playdough
  • Donating a book to the classroom or school library
  • Contributing a board game or educational activity for classroom use
