High School Contests & Programs
Form a team of up to 5 members and compete against students from our conference in a head-to-head battle about books specially selected by librarians in the NLCC. All the books are available in our library for checkout. This year's battle will be at Lakes High School on March 13th, 2025.

TeenTober™ is a new, nationwide celebration hosted by libraries every October and aims to celebrate teens, promote year-round teen services and the innovative ways teen services helps teens learn new skills, and fuel their passions in and outside the library. TeenTober™ replaces YALSA’s previous Teen Read Week™ and Teen Tech Week™ celebrations, allowing libraries the flexibility to celebrate all types of literacies according to their library’s schedule. Library staff are encouraged to utilize this new celebration to advocate for and raise awareness of the importance of year-round teen services in libraries. (https://www.ala.org/yalsa/teentober)
Teentober is celebrated annually in the Round Lake High School Library
In celebration of TeenTober, the schools in our conference participate in a reading competition called Pageapalooza. Come back in the fall for more details.
