The Birth to 5 Program is proud to announce it has earned the Parents as Teachers Blue Ribbon Affiliate status — the organization's highest recognition of quality and fidelity standards. Earning this status recognizes the hard work and dedication of our incredible staff and adds to our excitement as we build strong communities, thriving families, and children who are healthy, safe, and learning.

The distinction recognizes the organization's highest standards for quality and model fidelity, making Round Lake Area Schools Birth to 5 Program one of the top-performing home visiting affiliates within the Parents as Teachers international network.

Parents as Teachers is an early childhood development program that offers curricula to help families set up their children for academic success. Our Birth to 5 program adopts their curricula to empower parents to be their child's first teacher, ensuring their child will be preschool and/or kindergarten ready. 

In 2025, the Round Lake Area Schools Birth to 5 program completed the Parents as Teachers Quality Endorsement and Improvement Process (QEIP) and earned the highest designation: Blue Ribbon Affiliate status. The in-depth QEIP, which affiliates complete every five years to ensure alignment with organizational requirements, identifies programs that reach benchmarks of excellence in quality service to the families in their communities.

A designation as Blue Ribbon Affiliate affirms that Round Lake implements the evidence-based Parents as Teachers model with fidelity, and that families in the city/county community are positively impacted by the services delivered by this program.
