Hi! My name is Kara Hassel and I am a Kindergarten booster teacher at Pleviak. I am thrilled to be a part of the Round Lake community, where student growth is paramount and professional development is a top priority.

I graduated in 2014 from Elmhurst College with a degree in Elementary Education and a reading endorsement. Since then, I have taught 3rd grade, 2nd grade and Kindergarten. Kindergarten is my passion. I love to teach through play and hands-on experiences. I graduated with my Masters as a Reading Specialist in 2018. I believe in using research-based methods to help students develop strong phonics and reading skills.
