Mr. Jim Captain

Hi, I'm Jim Captain. I have been teaching since 2010 and have taught in a few different schools including Montessori schools, therapeutic schools, and now Round Lake High School. I am a teacher in the Learning Alternative Behaviors (LAB) program at the high school and teach social studies to the students in the program and also co-teach in other subjects. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administation and a Master's Degree in Special Education.

I grew up in Lorain, OH near Cleveland and am an avid Cleveland sports fan. Before becoming a teacher I had many different positions in business. I repaired copiers, laser printers, fax machines, and large format copiers and printers as well and was a service manager at a couple different copier companies in Columbus, OH. I also worked as a salesmanager at a water company which is what brought me to this area in 2007. At this point, I decided to change careers to something I felt good about, a career where I felt that I was making a difference in the world. I have never regretted my choice to become a teacher and love teaching my students.

I live with my wife who I married in 1995 along with my daughter, who is a college student, and my son, who is a high school student. In my spare time I enjoy reading, travelling, playing and watching sports, and most of all, spending time with my family.
