Welcome to Art at Ellis!

I am so happy to have the opportunity be a part of the RLAS community and to teach art to your students.  I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts and my Master of Art in Art Education from the University of Illinois.  Art affords us the opportunity to observe the world more fully. It offers ways to view and think about interpretations of our histories and opportunities for thinking about and exploring our own lives.  It also provides a platform to experiment and problem solve as we create.  In our art room students are given opportunities to explore and play with ideas and materials, challenge themselves, make meaning, make artful connections to their core subject areas, think critically, make choices and take risks as they make.
