I grew up in North-Central Illinois in the LaSalle-Peru area. I attended LaSalle-Peru Township High School and graduated in 1982. I attended Illinois State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics (Foods and Nutrition) in 1987. I attended Roosevelt University and earned a Masters degree in Special Education in 2008. 

I have been in education for 13 years, all of which have been at Round Lake High School. I teach Special education Math primarily to 9th-grade students.

My interests include vacationing with my wife and two daughters, outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting, and attending sporting events and concerts.
