Mr. Bryan Rolfsen

Hello and welcome to my page!

I am the AP Biology and Ecology teacher here at Round Lake High School.  I started teaching here in 2014 after completing my Master of Arts in Teaching at National-Louis University.  Prior to completing my education degree and certification, I attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biological Sciences.  During graduate school, I studied parasites, specifically interactions between a deer liver trematode and its intermediate host, snails.  Though I enjoyed research, I discovered my love for teaching during graduate school while teaching introductory biology labs.  I dipped my toes a little further in the profession working at Northwestern University with the Center for Talent Development teaching advanced biology courses to middle schoolers during the summer for 3 years.  These experiences inspired me to get my high school credentials.  I quickly found a home at Round Lake High School, and I haven't looked back!

Thanks for visiting my page!
