Mr. Rodriguez

I am an Illinois State University graduate and proud Redbird. After graduating from Illinois State University, I worked at Buffalo Grove High School.  About this time, I began my ESL and Bilingual Master's program through National Louis University. Because of my experiences in the program, I sought out a Bilingual Mathematics teaching position at Schurz High School in Chicago. After teaching there for some time, getting married, and moving, life brought me to Round Lake High School. I really enjoy working here due to the demographics and the opportunities that the district has to offer.

SOMOS _____________

I am a co-sponsor of our school's Latino Club called SOMOS _________

Our clubs events include but are not limited to the following:

* Homecoming - Our club participates in our school's homecoming celebrations and events.

* Homecoming Parade - Our club members construct a float to complement our school's homecoming theme.

* Hispanic Heritage Month - We decorate a hallway and plan activities to celebrate the accomplishments of Latino's in America's history.

* Round Lake's Letters to Santa - Our club hosts an annual workshop, where we then respond back to all the elementary school children's letters to Santa. It is a great event that helps create unity in our community and the high school students really benefit from the experience as well.

* Battle of the Clubs - Our club hosts a field day for all the clubs to come together and celebrate a great year with some friendly competition and potluck at the end.

* Taco Fest - This is our end of the year celebration for our club members to enjoy food, music and dance lessons as well.

* Senior Graduation Walk - Our club members help organize and document our school's annual Senior Graduation Walk.

Senior Graduation Walk

Round Lake High School is very proud of their graduates, and for this reason, we host an annual Senior Graduation Walk which allows all graduating Seniors to revisit their elementary schools in their cap and gowns. They are bussed to all our district's schools, where they are welcomed with signs of congratulations and applauded as they walk through the hallways.
