Mr. Reigner

Hello,

I am Mr. Reigner and a math teacher here at Round Lake Middle School for the last seven years.  I spent my first four years teaching eighth grade and the previous four years as a sixth grade math teacher.  I received my degree in education from Southern Illinois University in 2012 and my Master’s Degree in Differentiating Instruction from Concordia University in 2016.  Teaching is a passion and a second career of mine.  Prior to teaching, I was in the management field for a variety of companies.

Education has always been important to me, which is why I felt the need to change my career path.  I find a lot of value in helping students and more importantly helping them learn to help themselves. My teaching philosophy does not only consist of teaching students the math content, but also trying to develop their problems solving skills as well as increasing their ability to take ownership of their own education.  I believe that as we enter into our future it is important for us to teach our children to be confident in their abilities and not afraid to take risks and be innovators in their interests.

Outside of school, I am married and kept very busy with three children, all boys.  Logan is the youngest at three years old, and yet somehow believes he runs our household.  Dylan, who is 8, enjoys playing soccer and is very artistic.  Mason, 11, is very athletic and loves playing video games.  Outside of family functions, I am a huge sports fan.  My favorite teams are from Philadelphia because that is where I was born and raised.
