Mr. Dave Marshall

Mr. Marshall was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Johnsburg, IL. He always had a focus on music, particularly rhythm, and spent much of his middle school and high school time in the band room. His greatest inspiration was his high school band director. Upon entering college at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, IL, he fell absolutely in love with his first experience in a large collegiate choir. At that moment, he switched his course track from instrumental to vocal studies hoping to eventually become a high school choir director. During this time he performed in multiple professional choirs around the Chicago area, singing for many church choirs, and even joined a band and toured, playing many venues across the country. After graduating, he began teaching in Chicago and quickly fell in love with elementary music education. He moved to Round Lake, IL and began teaching here at Indian Hill. Mr. Marshall focuses his instruction on creating personal connections to the songs we sing, hear, and examine. He works to ensure his students leave the Indian Hill music room with a well rounded skill set for listening, creating, and performing music no matter what their passion for music becomes.
