Mrs. Stephanie Mitchell

My name is Stephanie Mitchell and I am excited to start my fifth year at John T. Magee Middle School. From 2017 - 2020, I served as the Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at JTMMS. Last year, I stepped into the role of Principal and I couldn't have been more elated! I am very honored to work in the Round Lake Area School District, which is known for its dedication to inspire and empower students, but more importantly, construct a thriving future. Over the past 15 years, I have worked as a teacher and administrator, but I consider my most important job to be an advocate for lifelong learning.

I get the pleasure of spending a significant amount of time with your children, and I enjoy getting to know their personalities, learning styles, and interests. I will celebrate their successes, small and large, and will encourage them every day. I want our students to know we will affirm their unique value and essential dignity, they have a voice that is valued, and everyone truly has a special place in our school community. My ultimate goal is to ensure all children at JTMMS are healthy, happy and safe, so they may learn as much as they can. This has been my philosophy since I began my career in education in a middle school math classroom.

One of my greatest achievements comes not professionally, but personally, as I am the mother of two boys who keep me quite busy: Nolan (7) and Kullen (5). People often say I treat all children in my school as if they were my own. I even have a tendency to refer to my students as “my kids!” Please know I will work tirelessly to ensure your children have the best possible experiences while at John T. Magee Middle School. I am eager to move “Forward Together” in the 2021-2022 school year as we regain our sense of school community.

Mr. Matt Zidron

My name is Matt Zidron and I am excitedly starting my third year as Assistant Principal of Student Services at John T. Magee Middle School. Prior to becoming an assistant principal, I taught English and Language Arts at Round Lake High School and Magee.

My true passion is working with children to help them gain confidence in themselves and their education. I love to see students take ownership of their learning and grow as learners and people. I try to facilitate self-reflection and self-awareness in every student in an effort to help them become 21st-century global citizens.

Outside of school, I have two sons and a daughter, Lincoln, Harrison, and Adeline that keep me extremely busy. I spend my afternoons and weekends chasing them around the park or the house. Just like the students, I try to invoke a sense of curiosity and wonder in my own children. I look forward to providing a safe and comfortable place for every student to explore and learn about themselves.

Mr. Frank Ranalli

I am very excited and honored to be entering my 2nd year as Assistant Principal at John T. Magee Middle School! Prior to becoming Assistant Principal, I was the Dean of Students and a Science and Social Studies teacher at Magee.  It has been my pleasure to be part of the Magee family for the past eight years and I am looking forward to continuing to build on the relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners that I have been able to establish over the years.

Quality instruction is at the core of everything that I believe about education. I seek to achieve high-quality instruction and unique learning opportunities for all students. I look forward to working with the school community to ensure the needs of every student at John T. Magee are met this school year.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife Amanda and our four boys Frank III, Jack, William, and Charlie. As a family, we have a love for the outdoors. We also enjoy attending sporting events and watching movies together.
