Mrs. Casey Kurtz

Welcome Vikings!

My name is Casey Kurtz, and I am honored to serve Village Elementary School as Principal.

At Village, we strive to create a student-centered environment, dedicated to meeting the academic, social, and emotional needs of our students. In educating the whole child, students will achieve high standards of learning each day. The Village team is committed to fostering relationships with families, students, and community members, inclusive of the wonderful diversity Round Lake offers. We strive to maintain a school atmosphere that is warm, welcoming, and engaging for all.

On a personal note, this school year marks my fourteenth year in education. Much of my career has been spent in the Round Lake Area Schools as a teacher, reading specialist, and Assistant Principal. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband Kevin, our two-year-old son Luke, and our rescue dog Marley. I love reading, crafting, and spending time outside! Our family loves to go on hikes, explore new forest preserves, kayak, fish, and take bike rides!

At our core, we know that the school-to-home partnership is what allows us to provide an extraordinary school experience for all students. I look forward to collaborating as partners to ensure student success at Village! Go Vikings!

Mrs. Kai-Lin Moshopoulos

Greetings Village Elementary School Families! My name is Kai-Lin Moshopoulos and I am very excited to become part of the Viking Elementary School family this year! This year marks my 18th year as an educator, during which time I taught grades 5th-8th and served as a K-4 Instructional Coach. I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together as a school community this year!

In joining the Village Elementary team, I know that I am tasked with upholding and supporting all of the great things that are already happening. Village Elementary School endeavors to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students with a focus on providing engaging, differentiated learning opportunities, as well as promoting student diversity and meeting the academic, emotional, and social needs of the students. The Village Elementary team works to cultivate meaningful relationships with students, school families, and community stakeholders, and strives to provide a welcoming environment for everyone.

Outside of school, I am a wife and a mother of two daughters, three if you include my fur baby. My family enjoys going to the movies, traveling, trying new foods, walking our dog, and playing board games.

Being an educator and working with others to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity is of the utmost importance to me. I look forward to collaborating with the Village Elementary staff, students, families, and community members to continue to provide exemplary educational experiences for Viking students.
