The Department of Professional Learning envisions a learning community where all staff members can access personalized, job-embedded, high-quality professional development opportunities. Our goal is to provide an ecosystem of learning that is inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of job title. Professional development is an ongoing process that should be purposeful, collaborative, and driven by student learning and behavioral data.
We have adopted the EPIC system, a collaborative and purposeful approach to professional development, to achieve this vision. The EPIC system is a progression of learning opportunities that provide time for learners to implement new skills and assess the impact of their efforts on student learning. The EPIC system includes coaching, mentoring, workshops, online learning, and team-based opportunities designed to support all staff members' professional growth.
