Transitional Program of Instruction

The Transitional Program of Instruction is provided for students who qualify for English language services and have a home language other than Spanish/English. Instruction is provided in English through a co-teaching, push-in or pull-out model. Instruction provided is appropriate for the English language level of each student and incorporates activities from the four language domains of reading, listening, speaking and writing.

In middle school and high school, students may be enrolled in English as a Second Language courses for English credit and/or specific English language development content courses. English services may also be provided through co-teaching. 

The goal of the Transitional Bilingual Education program is to help students learn English and achieve academic success in school.
