Transitional Bilingual Education

Transitional Bilingual Education is provided for Spanish-speaking students who qualify for bilingual education in grades 6-12. Instruction is provided in Spanish and English with a gradual shift to instruction in English as students’ English proficiency increases. Bilingual courses are offered in Spanish with English language development support and English as a Second Language courses are offered to support literacy development.

For Multilingual students not participating in the Dual Language program, Transitional Bilingual Education will continue to be available through a collaboration model.

The goal of the Transitional Bilingual Education program is to help students learn English and achieve academic success in school.
