Transitional Bilingual Education

Transitional Bilingual Education is provided for Spanish-speaking students who qualify for bilingual education in grades 5-12. Instruction is provided in Spanish and English with a gradual shift to instruction in English as students’ English proficiency increases.

In middle school and high school, bilingual courses are offered in Spanish with English language development support. Additionally, course design allows a bilingual teacher to provide instruction through co-teaching or small group.

The goal of the Transitional Bilingual Education program is to help students learn English and achieve academic success in school.
