Round Lake Area Schools is made up of a preschool, five elementary schools, two middle schools, a high school, and a transition center.

We are fortunate to have the opportunity to serve around 6,800 students in grades PK - 12. Our students have a great advantage in that the District is quite diverse, offering them experiences not found in other places!

Round Lake Area Schools currently employs approximately 1,000 outstanding and dedicated staff members.

Our staff are truly phenomenal. We foster a culture of support and camaraderie while working hard to benefit our students and community.

One of the many unique programs in Round Lake Area Schools is our Health & Wellness Center, located at Round Lake High School. Ours is the only school-based health center in Lake County!

The table below shows the 2025-26 total compensation and benefits package for a new teacher.  Dollar amounts for Sick Leave, Personal Leave, and Attendance Bonus would change based on an employee's salary.

We also offer other voluntary benefits such as vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, supplemental Life & AD&D insurance, 403(b) retirement savings, and more.

Classified staff such as teaching assistants, secretaries, bus drivers, and custodians are eligible for the same district-paid and voluntary benefits as teachers who work the same number of days per year.
