RLAS-116 is made up of a preschool, a kindergarten, five elementary schools, two middle schools, a high school and a transition center.
We are fortunate to have the opportunity to serve around 7,300 students in grades PK-12. Our students have a great advantage in that the District is quite diverse, offering them experiences not found in other places!
RLAS-116 currently employs approximately 950 outstanding and dedicated staff members.

TOTAL COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The table below shows the 2020-21 total compensation and benefits package for a new teacher. Dollar amounts for Sick Leave, Personal Leave, and Attendance Bonus would change based on an employee's salary.
2020-21 Teacher Starting Salary (BA, Step A)
Medical Insurance- Single PPO (we pay 100%)
Dental Insurance- Single PPO (we pay 100%)
Life Insurance- $50,000 policy (we pay 100%)
Employee Assistance Program (we pay 100%)
Sick Leave- 14 Days
Personal Leave- 3 Days
Tuition Reimbursement- maximum available
Attendance Bonus- maximum available
ESTIMATED ANNUAL TOTAL
We also offer other voluntary benefits such as vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, supplemental Life & AD&D insurance, 403(b) retirement savings, and more.
Classified staff such as teaching assistants, secretaries, bus drivers, and custodians are eligible for the same district-paid and voluntary benefits as teachers who work the same number of days per year.

Illinois Minimum Wage Increased Effective 1/1/2020
Effective 1/1/2020, the minimum wage in the state of Illinois increased to $9.25 per hour. This will only affect our temporary student employees.
