If Murphy has a high percentage of students registered we could win some iPads for our building. Online registration only takes 5 min.     Green Screen Adventures announced that it will feature "The Popular Tree" submitted by a student from Village Elementary School.

         On April 2nd, students from the Round Lake High School Panther Pride Program (P3), sponsored by RLHS Principal Dr. Juan Gardner, traveled to Murphy Elementary School to perform at the PBIS booster assembly.

    Online Registration for the 2013-2014 school year is NOW OPEN!!!  It is important to note that the Registration Fee does not need to be paid at the time of registration. You may register online by following the online registration link located on the District Webpage. If you need assistance in registering your student/students for school please contact the District Registrar, Janet Garza at 847-270-9050. You may also stop by the Administrative Service Center where assistance and computers are provided.

    Parent University BPAC

    The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) is a group of parents and community leaders volunteers who donate their time and talents to design, schedule, coordinate, implement and evaluate programs and events geared toward increasing parental involvement and student achievement.

    Gearing Up for ISATs!

    This year’s state achievement tests will begin on Wednesday, March 6th and end on Wednesday, March 13th with make-ups on the 14th and 15th. The tests are part of the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT). They are given to all eligible students.

     

    5th Graders to Receive IPA Award

    About The IPA Award

    Each year, the Illinois Principal’s Association honors two students from each school in Lake County. The IPA Award will be given to a boy and girl at Murphy who demonstrate the following characteristics:

    • Academic Growth & Achievement – students who are excelling academically due to ability, effort, and attitude
    • Character – students who demonstrate the six pillars of Character Counts on a consistent basis: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship

    The winners of the IPA Award will be presented their awards at a Recognition Breakfast that will be held at Vernon Hills High School on April 17th 2013. (Parents will also be invited.)

    Award Determination Process

    The two recipients will be determined through the following process:

    • Students will nominate peers that they feel are deserving
    • Teachers will narrow the pool of nominated students
    • Final nominees will submit a Reflection and Projection statement outlining involvement in extra curricular activities, community involvement, and future educational and career aspirations

    Murphy Student Council is going to be selling soy wickless candles to help raise funds for Student Council and Murphy!
