I am a certified school counselor with 15 years of experience working in schools. I have taught all grades 1-8 and have worked as a counselor at both the high school and middle school level. I received both my Bachelor of Arts in History and my Master of Education in School Counseling degrees from Loyola University Chicago. I also received a Master of Education in School Leadership from Benedictine University.
I thoroughly enjoy working with students in the middle school. Each grade level presents unique circumstances and challenges. I believe that offering quality guidance to middle school students can have a great positive impact on their social and academic development. My goal is to ensure that all Round Lake Middle School students receive the support that they need to achieve at the highest level possible.
Various group and classroom guidance activities are available to Round Lake Middle School Students. Students may sign up to participate in lunch time book clubs with me. We will be reading novels selected to address various topics relevant to middle school students. I also will be visiting the sixth grade classes regularly to discuss the topics discussed in Steven Covey’s book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Kids. As the need arises, specialized social and study skills counseling groups will be created and I will also offer individual counseling when necessary.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have regarding the counseling services offered at Round Lake Middle School.
