Hello and thank-you for taking a little time to get to know me. I look forward to working with you through-out the year! I am a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University. I have a Masters Degree in Special Education. I also hold a Masters degree in Meteorology from Northern Illinois University and a Masters degree in School Administration and Supervision from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. This is my fourteenth year in Round Lake, and I am excited to be here! I enjoy working with all of my students, as well as the faculty here.
I am a Special Education Case Manager. Part of my job involves working with parents so that together we can make their child successful. I also work directly with the special education student's teachers to make sure that these students are getting the accommodations and services that they are supposed to be receiving. All students on my case load are notified at the beginning of the school year so that they know that I am their case manager. Students know that if there are any problems that they need to let me know, and that I am there to help them resolve these. Students are informed that I am there to help them in any way that I can.
As a Special Education Case Manager, I give special help and attention to certain students within general education classrooms that need extra help to be successful. I see each of the students on my caseload weekly to go over their grades with them. I also provide assistance to students that have difficulty staying organized and focused. I work with them to make sure that homework assignments are completed and turned in on time.
I set up and run annual meetings for my students and write individual educational plans for each of them to make sure that they are successful in the classroom. I also hold 3 year re-evaluations for them to make sure that the are getting the services and assistance they need to be successful. It is a sincere pleasure and honor to work with each of my students.
