Welcome to Fourth Grade and Room 103!

My name is Mrs. Devich, and I am one of your child's fourth grade teachers!  This year I am co-teaching with Mrs. Gossett, so your child gets TWO teachers to learn from instead of just one! :) I want to tell you a little bit about me...

I am married and have a fun-loving and energetic 3-year old daughter.  My husband, Jared, and I love to travel.  We also love to keep our daughter busy--playing outside, playing with our black lab, and spending time with family.  We are expecting our second daughter in the beginning of January this year as well!  So, I will be gone on maternity leave for a small part of the school year after winter break, but will return in the Spring.

I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University, continued on with my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and am currently earning 30 extra credits of educational classes that will further assist me in teaching your child. This is my 9th year as a Mustang!  I have mostly taught fourth grade, but have also taught fifth.  I love teaching at Murphy!  We not only have great students, but great teachers as well!
I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher.  Not only do I get to teach your child, but I also learn from your child too.  I get to see their excitement as they progress in reading.  I get to witness their enthusiasm during a read aloud or book discussion.  I am lucky enough to be a part of their curiosity during a science experiment.  I  am there when they are learning something new and challenging and hopefully I can make them comfortable enough to be able to ask questions to calm their anxieties.  I have confidence in each and every child that they will succeed if they always try their best!  I also encourage them to always ask questions and I encourage you to do the same.  If you ever have a question or concern, please do not hesitate to ask!
We are going to be learning some interesting and fun topics this year!  Stop by and see for yourself!
