6th Grade Science/Social Studies

Room 125

Welcome to my webpage! I am fortunate to have worked in the Round Lake Area School District for the last 7 years. I currently teach 6th grade Science and Social Studies. I am a life-long learner, starting out my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from University of Illinois at Chicago, then getting my Masters in Education from Roosevelt University, and finally earning another Masters in Administration and Supervision at the end of last school year.  Shortly after graduating from Roosevelt, I was hired as a 6th grade Reading and Science teacher at Raymond Ellis Elementary in Round Lake. Then in 2008, John T. Magee Middle School opened where I continue teaching 6th grade.

Not only do I teach Science and Social Studies, I participate in and run a few clubs/teams. I belong to the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) Team, and the SAP (Student Assistance Program) Team. I facilitate the BIONIC Team (Believe It or Not I Care), and the Scholastic Bowl Team.

I am proud to have received the "Those Who Excel" Recognition Award from the Illinois State Board of Education last year with my team partner, Ms. Brenner.

As far as my personal life, I have a wonderful husband Dan, and a son, Marcus,  who is attending Northern Illinois University as a junior and loving every minute of it. He has decided to go into education as well. He will be teaching high school History, and coaching football. I have three dogs; Angel, Buddy and Vince. I am also the Community Connect Team Lead for the Chapel's Mobile Food Pantry that services families in and around the Round Lake Area. This is going to be a great year that will be full of respect, responsibility, safety and care.
