Welcome to my homepage! Let me introduce myself. My name is Kori Auriema. I have been employed in the Round Lake School District since 1987. All but four of the years here have been spent working with special education children. The other four years I worked with general education 2nd grade students.
At the ripe old age of 13, I knew I wanted to become a teacher. Unfortunately, my parents told me I would not be attending college because of financial reasons. I had an older sister that was told the same thing and she accepted it. I, on the other hand, did not. I earned an academic scholarship for myself and began my college career and never looked back. I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern Illinois University and my Master's Degree from Concordia University.
My wonderful kids (of the feline variety) include two girls and a boy. Graceanne is a gray and white tabby. Katie is a black and white tuxedo cat, and my boy, comically referred to as "Cat/Dog" is named Carlton. He is a beige and white tabby, adopted from Save A Pet and is very friendly and enjoys going outside for daily walks on his leash. Boy, the looks we get from passers by who can't believe they are actually seeing a cat on a leash and not a dog! I love it!!!
