I am happy to begin my sixth year at Ellis Elementary School. I taught third grade here for three years, and this is my third year in second grade.
After a career in Commercial Insurance, I took ten years off to raise my two children, who are now grown and in college. I began to volunteer at school, and then worked as a Teaching Assistant for several years. I realized that I wanted to become a teacher, so I returned to school at National-Louis University to earn my Master of Arts in Teaching. I taught third and fourth grade for a few years, went back to school to earn my English as a Second Language Endorsement, and here I am! After three years teaching Third Grade ENL students at Ellis, I am exploring new learning with your children in Second Grade.
It is an honor to work with your children. Please be sure to read with them each evening, as well as practice math facts. Do your best to check their home folders and assignment notebooks daily for homework and important information.
If you ever have questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email me. I am happy to meet with you.
I am looking forward to working as partners with you in your child's education.
