Hi! This is my 2nd year at Ellis School, and I'm excited to be a part of the 4th grade team as a Sped Resource Teacher!
I graduated in 1999 from Western Michigan University (Go Broncos!) with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education as well as Special Education. I minored in Social Sciences. I moved to Illinois, and worked for SEDOL as a high school self-contained Special Ed teacher for a year, and then moved on to Deerfield, and taught middle school Special Ed Language Arts and Social Studies. For 10 years after that, I became a stay-at-home mom for my 2 wonderful kids, Cassidy and Connor! Although I am grateful for being able to be home to raise my children, I dearly missed teaching and being a part of an education team.
I returned to education a few years back, and ultimately joined the staff here at Ellis School! I love the staff here, the students, and the community. I am committed to providing a learning environment for our 4th graders in which all students can succeed! I am committed to helping my students reach their goals, provide different learning opportunities, and create an environment that my students enjoy coming to everyday. I want them to feel successful and become lifelong learners :)
When I am not at Ellis, you can usually find me at one of my kids' sporting events, reading a good book, or cooking a meal for my family!
