Our Principal Mr. Prickett
Thank you for your interest in W.J. Murphy Elementary School, the home of the Mustangs! Known for its friendliness and warmth, W.J. Murphy is home to 700 first through sixth grade students.
The staff at W.J. Murphy is committed to providing all children with a quality education and providing them with the necessary tools and strategies to be successful both inside and outside the classroom.
For the 2007-2008 school year, the staff at W.J. Murphy will focus on Literacy. We still see reading as the foundation for academic success in all curricular areas and believe that children must “learn to read in order to read to learn!” We have worked hard to ensure every classroom has at least 90-120 minutes of uninterrupted Literacy time, and we have achieved that goal. At W.J. Murphy, we also believe in educating the whole child, addressing social and emotional, as well as academic needs.
We welcome you to further investigate all of the opportunities that are available at W.J. Murphy. For more information, or to arrange a visit, please contact us at
