Text Box: From the Desk of Mr. Prickett:
Happy Spring? I hope to be saying that soon, and having people believe me! With the rapid changes in weather this past month, I am not sure what to think anymore…
The month of March not only means Spring, but the month of state testing. Our 3rd through 5th grade students are finishing ISAT exams to measure proficiency in Reading, Math, Science (4th only), and Writing (3rd and 5th only). Good luck, Murphy Mustangs! We know you will do your best!
Parents, thank you for continuing to ensure that your student gets a good night of rest, eats a good breakfast, and for sending your children out the door with an extra hug and a word of encouragement.
Honor Roll
3rd Quarter Honor Roll Breakfasts will be Thursday and Friday mornings, March 25 and 26. 3rd Grade - Thursday morning; 4th and 5th grades - Friday morning.
Spring Break
Spring Break this year falls the last week of March, from Monday the 29th of March until Friday, April 2nd. School resumes on Monday, April 5th.
Attendance
Attendance continues to be a priority at school. February saw a resurgence, and posts the best numbers since December! Keep it up, Mustangs!
Email Distribution List
Recently, I sent out a request to be placed upon the W.J. Murphy parent email distribution list. If you have not already done so, please consider filling this out and sending it back in to the office. It is a great way to stay current with school happenings. There are extra forms in the office.
Young Rembrandt’s & Good News Club
These two after-school clubs start next week! Forms are in the office if you are interested in these activities for your child.
Read Across America/Author Visit/Chorus
This month, in addition to the great many reasons to celebrate, we also honor Dr. Seuss with a week-long extravaganza the week of March 8. Every day of that week will be a different theme, the students will be engaged in various literacy activities, and we will close with a HUGE Family Reading Night and Chorus Concert next Thursday the 11th. Should you come out that night, you will find a book fair, AUTHOR SUZANNE SLADE, an ice cream social, a concert, and a raffle! It is certain to be a great night!
