School Plan
This is the final section of the report card in which your school and district provide information below on areas of success and areas for planned improvement based on your school’s improvement plan.
(For report cards disseminated electronically this information may be provided in a separate document due to the differences in the software used. If you are unable to locate this document, please contact your local school or district office.)
The following items were successfully implemented during the 2004/2005 school year:
- Emphasis on modeled writing was featured through the Open Court Reading and Writing Program.
- Science was our focus during the month of February with a successful parent /student activity night.
- Hartcourt Math program was adopted with an emphasis on the use of math manipulatives.
- The Building Block model was implemented to focus on literacy.
- Learning centers were utilized to provide various activities to address the students’ diverse learning styles and multiple intelligences.
The following areas are the planned improvements for the 2005/2006 school year.
- Continued implementation of the Open Court Reading and Writing Program.
- The successful implementation of the new McGraw-Hill Science Program
- Daily messages will model the writing process.
- Parent/child education nights will continue to build a meaningful community partnership.
- Learning through the use of manipulatives will be continued through the math curriculum activities.
- Word walls will continue to develop vocabulary through the introduction and use of sight words.
- Student achievement continues to increase each year. Parent involvement with our educational program helps our students reach their full potential.
