 LIBRARY RULES AND POLICIES

Thanks to Title 1 funding an additional 1000+ non-fiction (true) books have been added to the school collection. Check them out!

Many books are lexiled so picking books that are right for you will be easier. Choosing books at your reading level will make reading more rewarding and always continue to strive for the next level. Becoming a stronger reader makes you a stronger individual! Be a leader!

Borrowing library books is a privilege so please be responsible. Return your books on time so you don't get a fine! (.05/day) Books are a treasure so treat them as your prized possession. Replacing them can be expensive.

ACCELERATED READER

Accelerated Reader is bigger and better! Be a leader and join Accelerated Reader! Add up the points and win prizes. Check out the Leaderboard in the library to keep track of top readers-hopefully it is you!!! The top 60 readers will join me in the library for a pizza party in May to celebrate!!!

The contest is quickly coming to an end! Please take all your quizzes by 12PM on Friday, April 16th.

1st-2nd-3rd grades: participants will receive a certificate and bookmark. 10 points=a pencil 20 points=pick from prize box 40 points=a book 70 points=pick from special prize box

4th-5th grades: participants will receive a certificate and bookmark. 15 points=pick from prize box 20 points=a book 40 points=pick from special prize box

1st, 2nd, and 3rd places overall will also receive a gift card! All awards will be distributed at the end of the contest (April 16th, 2010).

 

ACCELERATED READER RULES


Individual student grade average must be 70% or higher.
Quizzes must be taken individually as well as reading the book.
No help from teachers, other students or the actual book.
Students must read at least 1 book and pass the quiz in order to be eligible for contest incentives.


Reading Level color codes:

Black: 1st

Blue: 2nd

Yellow: 3rd

Red: 4th

Green: 5th

Orange: 6th and higher
