Individuals or families that are struggling to make sure that their basic needs are being met may find assistance through the Avon Township Center.
Some of the Assistance Programs available through the Township Center are listed below. (Spanish)
Utility Bill Assistance- On an Emergency Basis: water, gas, electric
Housing Assistance- On an Emergency Basis
Bus Transportation for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities
Food Pantry: Requires and ID and Proof of Household Members
Applications for Temporary Disability Placards for Automobiles
Public Aid Applications- TANF, Medicaid, Food Stamps
LIHEAP- Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
Prescription Drug Assistance- As a Last Resort
All of the assistance programs are based on need and there are income and other requirements.
You must live within the 60073 or 60030 zip code areas to get assistance from the Avon Township Center. If you believe that one of the programs may help in a time of need call, visit in person or go to the Avon Township Center website.
