SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT GOALS
BEACH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Beach School continues to make progress in the area of mathematics in both grades 3 and 5. Beach School goals for increasing student achievement in mathematics will be to analyze individual student data and extend additional opportunities to those students whose scores are marginal with regard to Meets/Exceeds. With additional teaching strategies and individual assistance for these students, we hope to raise the number of students achieving meets/exceeds.
Reading continues to present challenges for Beach School. Beach School will address these challenges in several ways:

Analyze individual test scores to assist students who are close to achieving the next level of scoring.

The School Improvement Team will analyze data to determine which areas of reading (comprehension, vocabulary, etc) present the greatest challenge and will meet with teachers of all testing grades to share additional strategies to be used with these students.
ISAT analysis and preparation is shared monthly with teachers in grades 4 and 6 in order to assure that instruction meets the needs of students testing in ISAT reading and math for the first time.
