RLTC goes on air during visit to WRLR

It was a fun day a week ago when the Round Lake Transiiton Center visited the studios of WRLR 98.3 FM. WRLR is a local community radio station that serves Lake County and is based in Round Lake Heights. With a radio station that is so close to school and that serves the community, it was a great opportunity to see what is in our backyard here in town.

The students received a tour of the studio where they saw what happens in a radio station as well as being able to examine all of the equipment as well as meet Elvis who resides in the station. A bunch of students were able to take their picture with the cut out life sized cardboard Elvis. Part of seeing how a radio station worked was allowing the students to observe a show that was on air.

But that wasn't all as the students were invited by the host, Stan Konik, to come on air where he interviewed them and asking them a few questions each. The students learned a lot as they discussed their tastes in music as well as other things. Also, several students got the opportunity to play a song that they chose which was exciting.

We'd like to thank Rich Didiomenco and Stan Konik for the opportunity to tour the studios of WRLR as the students thoroughly enjoyed their time at the radio station.
