Cooking with Round Lake Transition 6th Edition

It was an interesting situation for the Round Lake Transition Center students in the kitchen this week. They were given the challenge of planning and making several meals to organize a cookout after their field trip to the radio station on Friday. 

The students organized and planned a menu and side dishes to share. The students decided that they wanted to make a side salad to go along with the burgers and hot dogs that they were grilling. It was a huge trip to the store to get enough hot dogs and burgers to make for the students and staff and get the condiments along with the ingredients necessary to make the salad. 

A group of students decided to make a salad that is from one of their favorite restaurants, Olive Garden, along with the balsamic vingarette that you can find at the restaurant. The students washed and pulled apart the lettuce along with peeling and dicing onions, tomatoes and carrots to put into the salad. After making the dressing to go on top of it, it was also topped off with a few hot peppers. 

Meanwhile the other group of students were busy grilling hot dogs and burgers. It took awhile but the students were able to perfect grilling the hot dogs and burgers in order to feed everybody. 

It was a perfect day out for a cookout and all the students were involved in making the food for a cookout on a picturesque sunny day.
