Cooking with Round Lake Transition 4th Edition

There were some more culinary skills on display in the kitchen this week at the Round Lake Transition Center. 

In the kitchen, some of the students continued with their progression of cooking italian food. The students practiced making pasta to master reading the directions on the package and see that pasta can be an quick and easy dinner to make for themselves or their families at home.

To go with the pasta that they made the students heated up some pesto sauce as well to make a great combination. There were other things that we made as well.

Another group of students made paninis. They were able to go online and research the ingredients to determine how much the selected meats and cheeses would cost. Then they went to the store where they were able to navigate the deli counter to select the food that they wanted as well as getting various condiments.  

Once back at the transition center, the students assembled their sandwiches and used a panini press. The students were able to utilize the panini press to make some delicious paninis in a matter of minutes. 

This week from pasta to paninis, the students were able to make delicious meals that were easy to make and quick that could be good for one or a family.
