Cooking with Round Lake Transition

Round Lake transition students demonstrate their cooking skills on a weekly basis. And this week was no exception as they made homemade pasta. From making marinara pasta, macaroni and cheese, to chicken alfredo there were a wide range of recipes that were on display.

Before shopping the students were able to research the ingredients needed in the recipes on the computer comparing prices so they could make a dinner that is delicious and nutritious that would be made for a few dollars.

Students went shopping at a local grocery store and were able to find the ingredients that they put on their list. Afterwards the students went into the kitchen and made their recipes. They worked as teams using the stove and microwaves in order to make a quick and cheap dinner dish that can be made independently and in five minutes!
